A Mouse In My House

This was just a fun poem I wrote after a discussion with friends about mice

I was in the house and all alone
When I heard a strange noise
But it wasn't a moan,
I stood up on my chair
And I gave out a scream
Was my mind playing trick's
At the vision I'd seen

I knew I'd heard noises
Which I thought were outside
I looked out the window
While my heart jumped inside,
There was nothing out there
All was quiet and still
I went back to my chair
But only .......untill

Those noises got closer
Were they under my seat
I started to sweat
Then looked down at my feet,
I just caught the shadow
of something quite small
My mouth it did open
but who could I call

My Husband was working
He's not home till five
All my limbs they were Jerking
Would I still be alive,
Was this thing what I'd thought
If so! where's my cat
In my house.. he was not
Surely he'd...smell a rat

I stood frozen with fear
Then I jumped up and down
Screaming and shouting
I looked all around,
As my eyes scanned the floor
Once again it appeared
With a long stringy tail
And two small pointed ears

Oh god someone help me
I'm trapped in the house
Too scared to move
At the sight of a Mouse,
Should I jump off the chair
Make a run for the door
What if it chases me over the floor

I know some will laugh
At being scared of a Mouse
I don't mind them outside
Just not in my house,
A small tiny creature
A Rodant you see
That scurries along
Much faster than me

It carries diseases now I feel sick
Please someone come save me
For me ...its too quick,
How did it get here
Oh I hate those damn pests
Oh Help...Oh my God
What if it has a Nest

So now you'll be wondering
Did I jump off the chair
Did I Run for the door
Did I make it to there,
Well the truth be told
I'm not really that Brave
I'm still up on the chair
Waiting to be saved
