The Big Heart
This was the very first poem I ever wrote after being told I had Heart Failure in 2006
I smiled when Doctors told me
My that heart had grown too big
It wasn't working properly
The Valves just didn't fit
They said we'll do investigations
To find out what went wrong
We can give you medication
to make your heart grow strong
They waited for my answer
They watched me curiously
But this problems not so serious
If you could imagine being me?
Of course my hearts got bigger
The cause is not unknown
It comes from being a mother
And the love that I've been shown
I said dont need medication
to fix whats wrong with me
If I need investigation's
I'll look up my family tree
I think that you should speak to God
Who will explain my situation
A mother carries so much love
Her hearts the transportation
So if my hearts got bigger..
It's not that I'm unwell
It's just that Ive had to much Love
That's what made it swell
